Give each account a clear name and select its currency before recording activity.
An account’s opening balance is the starting point for its running balance. Set it to the balance you want Budgie to track from, then record transactions from that point onward.
Record transfers between accounts # Use a transfer when money moves between two accounts you own. A transfer changes the balances of the two accounts without counting as ordinary spending or income. In an import, provide both ACCOUNT_FROM and ACCOUNT_TO so Budgie can create and link both sides.
Do not record a transfer as an expense in the source account and a second income in the destination account; that would distort spending and income Insights.
Reconcile against a statement # At a regular interval:
Choose one account and note the statement’s closing date and balance. Check that the account currency and opening balance are correct. Compare the statement’s transactions with Budgie’s ledger. Add missing transactions and correct dates, amounts, categories, or payees. Check transfers on both sides and investigate duplicate entries. Compare the resulting Budgie balance with the statement balance. If the balances differ, narrow the difference by checking the opening balance, uncleared activity, duplicate transactions, pending items, and transfers first. Avoid changing an opening balance just to hide an unexplained difference.
Cleared, pending, and corrected activity # Budgie provides five statuses:
Status Intended use Unreconciled Not yet visible on the bank statement. Pending Still pending on the bank side. Cleared Appears on the statement. Reconciled Appears on the statement and has been accounted for. Void No longer valid, such as a voided cheque. When a mistake is found, edit the original transaction where possible so the history remains understandable.
Purchases covering more than one category # Budgie’s normal transaction model assigns one primary category to a transaction. If one receipt needs to appear in several category totals, record separate transactions whose amounts add up to the receipt total, reuse the same payee and date, and explain the split in their notes or tags. Check the current app version before relying on a dedicated split editor.
Archive, hide, or delete an account # Archive an account when you want to preserve its history but stop using it for new activity. Hiding can remove it from normal lists, while excluding it from reports keeps its balance out of combined reporting. These choices preserve more context than deletion.
Before deleting an account, create a backup and inspect its transactions and linked transfers. Deletion is appropriate only when you no longer need the account or its history.
Multiple currencies # Reconcile each account in its own currency. Do not use an exchange-rate adjustment to compensate for a missing transaction or an incorrect account currency. Use Budgie’s financial tools for intentional scenario calculations, and document any manual adjustment in the transaction description.
Protect the result # Create a backup after a successful reconciliation and before a large import or batch correction. They serve different purposes: a backup preserves Budgie data for a later restore, while an export produces files intended for spreadsheets or other software.
Create a backup # Open Backup & Restore or Database Tools from the menu. You can create a Budgie ZIP backup immediately or configure automatic backups.
Local and cloud backups are configured independently, so you can use either destination or both:
Local backup uses a folder on your device or removable storage. Cloud backup uses a folder exposed by Android’s document picker, such as Google Drive or another supported storage provider. Backup settings Automatic backups can run daily or weekly. Choose how many backups to keep; after a successful backup, Budgie removes older Budgie backup files from that selected folder according to the retention setting. Background backups run when the battery is not low, and cloud backups also require the device to be online.
Budgie does not encrypt its backup files. Protect access to the device, removable storage, or cloud account where you save them.
Restore a backup # Select Restore from Backup File and choose a Budgie ZIP created by either a local or cloud backup.
Restoring replaces all local Budgie data with the contents of the selected backup. It is not a merge. Budgie must close when the restore completes; reopen it to load the restored database cleanly.
Before restoring:
Create a current backup if you may need the existing database again. Confirm that you selected the intended Budgie ZIP. Allow the restore to finish and the app to close. Reopen Budgie and check accounts, recent transactions, budgets, and schedules. Restore confirmation Export transactions # Open Database Tools, choose Export Data, and select CSV, JSON, or QIF. You can choose the destination folder and configure relevant file options, including the decimal separator, delimiter, whether the first line contains headers, and whether accounts are merged into one file or written separately.
Export settings Exports are useful for spreadsheet analysis or transferring supported data to another system, but they are not a complete Budgie restore file. Keep a Budgie ZIP backup as well if you need disaster recovery.
For importing transactions and supported third-party data, see Importing Data.

Budgie Download Getting started User guide Budgets Importing data Import resources Backup, restore, and export Financial tools Schedules and bills Understanding Insights Organising your data Accounts and reconciliation Data and security Troubleshooting FAQ Changelog Privacy Set a spending limit # A Budgie budget sets a spending limit for a defined time window. You can narrow a budget to selected accounts, categories, and tags. When more than one filter is selected, a transaction must match every selected filter group. For example, a budget limited to the Groceries category and the Household account counts only grocery transactions in that account.
Transfers are not included in budget spending. By default, Budgie measures spending from expense transactions, so income does not reduce a budget’s spend.
Budget editor Fixed range # Use a fixed-range budget for a one-off period with a specific start and end date. It is a good fit for a holiday, renovation, event, or any project with a known end date.
The same date range remains in effect; it does not create a new period when the end date passes.
Example: set a $2,000 budget from 1 June to 31 August for a holiday. Only matching transactions dated within those dates count toward the limit.
Rolling # Use a rolling budget when the period should always end today and look back by a chosen duration. Available durations are days, weeks, fortnights, months, quarters, years, and fiscal years.
A rolling one-month budget is not a calendar-month budget. On 15 August it covers the preceding month through 15 August; on 16 August it moves forward by one day. This makes it useful for ongoing limits such as “keep dining out below $300 in the last 30 days” or “stay within $1,000 over the last three months.”
Anchored # Use an anchored budget for repeating cycles that begin on a date you choose. The start date anchors every future period, and the period repeats at the selected frequency: days, weeks, fortnights, months, quarters, years, or fiscal years.
Anchored budgets are appropriate for salary cycles, billing cycles, or any recurring period that does not necessarily line up with the calendar. For example, an anchored monthly budget starting on the 10th runs from the 10th of one month through the 9th of the next.
For a fiscal-year budget, choose an anchor date that matches the start of your financial year. Budgie treats a fiscal year as a yearly period starting from that anchor; it does not infer a regional financial-year start automatically.
Choosing a type # Need Recommended budget type A temporary spend cap with fixed dates Fixed range A continuously updated “last N days/months” limit Rolling A repeating payday, subscription, or billing cycle Anchored After creating a budget, review its progress and history regularly. Consistent account, category, and tag assignment will make its totals more reliable.
Periods and rollover # Budgie evaluates each budget against its configured window. A fixed-range budget remains tied to its original dates, a rolling budget moves with the current day, and an anchored budget advances through repeating periods.
Unused allowance or overspending does not become a separate transaction. When comparing one period with the next, use the budget history and underlying transactions rather than changing an opening balance or adding an artificial adjustment.
Editing a live budget # Changing dates, filters, currency, or the limit changes which transactions qualify and how progress is presented. Review the current and previous periods after an edit, particularly when changing an anchor date or account filter.

Budgie Download Getting started User guide Budgets Importing data Import resources Backup, restore, and export Financial tools Schedules and bills Understanding Insights Organising your data Accounts and reconciliation Data and security Troubleshooting FAQ Changelog Privacy Understand your money # A modern personal finance app for tracking spending, budgets, accounts, schedules, and day-to-day money activity.
Budgie gives you a clear dashboard, a detailed ledger, and practical insights so you can see where your money goes and stay closer to your financial plans.
Application screenshots # Previous Next Features # Budgie helps you:
Track income, expenses, and transfers Manage accounts in different currencies Create and monitor budgets Organize transactions with categories, tags, and payees Review cash flow, spending trends, balances, and labels Track upcoming bills and scheduled transactions Search and explore your transaction history Import and export your data Back up your data when needed Budgie is designed for people who want a clear, hands-on view of their finances. Keep a current backup in a safe location, especially before importing a large file, changing devices, or reinstalling the app. See Backup, restore, and export for the recommended workflow.
How do I move Budgie to a new phone? # Create a backup on the old phone, copy it to a location you control, install Budgie on the new phone, and restore the backup before continuing to record transactions. This guide takes you through the main workflow from initial setup to backups. For deeper explanations, follow the links to the focused guides throughout the page.
1. Complete the initial setup # When you open Budgie for the first time, the onboarding screens introduce the app and help you choose its initial behaviour.
Choose your default currency. Create your first account, or continue and add accounts later. Optionally create a separate cash wallet. Choose Simplified or Advanced mode. Simplified mode hides payees and transaction statuses; Advanced mode makes them available. Review your choices and finish onboarding. You can change these options later under Advanced settings.
Screenshot needed Budgie onboarding showing the default currency step and the Simplified versus Advanced mode choice. 2. Find your way around Budgie # The main navigation provides quick access to the everyday areas of the app:
Dashboard summarises balances, cash flow, budgets, and recent activity. Ledger contains your transaction history and balance information. Budgets shows spending limits and progress. Insights provides summaries, charts, and trends. Open the side menu for accounts, categories, tags, payees, scheduled items, financial tools, appearance, advanced settings, and information about the app.
Screenshot needed Budgie with the bottom navigation and side menu open, clearly showing the main destinations. 3. Create and manage accounts # Accounts represent where money is held or owed, such as a current account, savings account, credit card, or cash wallet. Open Accounts, select the add action, and provide a name, currency, and opening balance. Optional fields let you choose an icon and colour, add a description or reference, set a default transaction status, or configure projected-balance warnings.
Use the account’s real currency. Budgie can convert combined values into your default currency using the rates configured under Advanced → Exchange Rates.
You can edit, reorder, hide, or archive accounts without removing their history. See Accounts and reconciliation for transfers, statement checking, split purchases, and safe account cleanup.
4. Record income, expenses, and transfers # Open the Ledger and select the add action:
Use Expense when money leaves an account and assign an expense category. Use Income when money enters an account and assign an income category. Use Transfer to move money between two Budgie accounts. Enter the account, amount, and date, then add a category, payee, tags, status, note, or photo where useful. Record account-to-account movements as transfers instead of matching income and expense entries; this keeps income and spending reports accurate.
Screenshot needed The Budgie transaction editor showing Expense, Income, and Transfer choices together with account, amount, date, category, payee, tags, status, and note fields. 5. Search and manage the ledger # Use the Ledger’s search, filters, and period controls to narrow the transaction list. Open a transaction to review or edit it. Selection tools can apply supported actions to several records at once, but review the selection carefully before changing or deleting it.
Data Explorer provides a more deliberate way to query transactions by period and other criteria, inspect totals, and work with selected results. Be especially careful when deleting one side of a transfer because the two entries are linked.
6. Organise your data # Give each organising tool a clear purpose:
Accounts identify where money is held. Categories describe the primary purpose of income or spending. Payees identify the merchant, employer, person, or organisation involved. Tags add flexible context across categories and accounts. Statuses support review and reconciliation in Advanced mode. Consistent names produce clearer searches, budgets, and Insights. The Organising your data guide includes practical naming patterns and bulk-cleanup advice.
7. Plan recurring activity # Use Scheduled Items for repeating financial activity. A schedule can create transactions automatically, while a bill waits for you to mark each occurrence as paid or skipped. Configure the account, amount, recurrence, start date, and optional reminder, then review upcoming activity from the relevant dashboard and schedule views.
Read Schedules and bills before enabling automatic creation or notifications.
8. Create and monitor budgets # Create a budget, choose the categories it covers, set its amount, and select the period behaviour that matches your plan. Budgie supports fixed ranges, rolling windows, and anchored repeating periods, with optional rollover where available.
Check a live budget before changing its dates or type because the period boundaries affect which transactions are counted. See Budgets for examples of each budget type.
9. Shape the Dashboard # The Dashboard brings frequently used information together. Depending on your configuration, it can show account balances, recent income and expenses, cash flow, budgets, categories, payees, scheduled items, and transaction statuses.
Open Customize Dashboard to choose the cards you want and arrange them around your normal review routine. A compact dashboard is often more useful than enabling every available card.
Screenshot needed A populated Budgie Dashboard alongside the Customize Dashboard screen, showing selectable and reorderable cards. 10. Review Insights # Open Insights, select a reporting period, and move between the available views. Use them to review cash flow, spending pace, income and expense categories, payees, tags, account balances, and transaction sizes.
Charts reflect the records and classifications in your ledger. Presets provide a quicker starting point for an empty square, empty hexagon, portal pair, or ice channel.
The editor supports:
normal, ice, portal, wall, and void cells; rock tiles placed on ice; automatically or manually paired portals; ice regions with limited or unlimited uses; fixed starting tiles and permitted random starting numbers for 2048, Threes, Fibonacci, or Powers of 3; and undo and redo while editing. Its starting-value choices follow the selected mode: powers of two for 2048, 1/2/3-based values for Threes, sequence values for Fibonacci, and powers of three for Powers of 3. A custom board can be tested immediately in its configured starting mode.
Validate before playing # Lab Merge checks a custom layout before saving or testing it. A playable board needs somewhere for random tiles to spawn, portals must have exactly two endpoints per pair, rocks must sit on ice, and starting values cannot occupy blocked cells.
Clear validation messages identify what needs attention instead of silently accepting a broken board.
Test and manage layouts # A valid board can be launched directly in a test game. Saved custom boards can be edited, duplicated, or deleted as the design evolves. Changing a board’s structure or starting tiles resets its saved games, best scores, and statistics across its modes; renaming it preserves them.
Copy and import JSON # The editor can copy a layout as JSON and import a compatible JSON layout. Drag across the board to preview a direction, then release to make the move. Compatible tiles combine and a new tile normally appears after a successful move, so every turn changes both your opportunities and the available space.
Classic 2048 rules # In 2048 mode, tiles with the same value combine: 2 + 2 becomes 4, 4 + 4 becomes 8, and so on. The usual milestone is the 2048 tile, but a run can continue while legal moves remain.
Try to keep your largest tiles organised toward an edge or corner. Avoid swiping without a plan: a nearly full board can end quickly when matching values become separated.
Threes rules # Threes mode changes both the combinations and movement. A 1 combines with a 2 to make 3; after that, equal values combine—3 + 3 becomes 6, 6 + 6 becomes 12, and so on. Each move advances tiles by one cell rather than compressing them to the edge. The next-tile preview shows what will enter from a changed lane.
Fibonacci rules # Fibonacci mode joins neighbouring values from the sequence in either order: 1 + 1 becomes 2, 1 + 2 becomes 3, 2 + 3 becomes 5, and so on. Tiles compress towards the edge. New tiles are usually 1 and occasionally 2; the goal is 2584, with the option to keep playing afterwards.
Powers of 3 rules # Powers of 3 uses pairwise merges: 3 + 3 becomes 9, 9 + 9 becomes 27, and so on. It does not require three matching tiles. Tiles compress towards the edge, a new 3 appears after a successful move, and the goal is 2187. You can continue beyond the goal while legal moves remain.
Saved games, best scores, statistics, and tile milestones are kept separately for all four modes.
Screenshot needed Four labelled gameplay details showing the defining merge in each mode: 2 + 2 to 4, 1 + 2 to 3 with the next-tile preview, 2 + 3 to 5, and 3 + 3 to 9. Square, hexagonal, and triangular movement # Square boards move in four directions. Hexagonal and triangular-cell boards use three reversible axes, providing six directions and changing how corners, lanes, and escape routes work. Board outlines can contain gaps, so a useful edge on one layout may be a trap on another.
Triangular-cell boards are currently behind a beta switch on the home screen. They are different from the Triangle silhouette layout, which still uses square cells.
Lab Sudoku Triangular Board Preview and commit a move # As you drag, movable tiles follow the selected direction and prospective merges appear before the board changes. Returning towards the starting point cancels the preview; releasing after the commit distance applies exactly the move shown. Score, random spawning, terrain use, undo history, and saved progress do not change until release.
The in-development Swipe Sensitivity setting changes how much of a cell you must drag before release—from a more responsive short gesture to a more deliberate movement. Disabling animations makes committed moves settle immediately.
Screenshot needed The same game position in two states: first during a partial drag with tiles and a prospective merge following the finger, then immediately after release with the move committed and the new tile appearing. Save, resume, and undo # Progress is saved locally for each mode and layout. You can leave one board, try another, and return to the earlier run later. The undo control can step back through up to 20 recent states, which is useful when learning a layout or recovering from an unintended swipe. Cancelling a move preview does not consume an undo state.
Starting a new game replaces the saved run for that particular mode and layout after confirmation; it does not erase your other boards or completed-game history.
Continue with Modes and Boards to choose a rule set and layout.

Lab Sudoku Download How to play Puzzle reference Guided hints and techniques Creating and importing puzzles Camera import Customising the board Daily Challenges and statistics Lab Sudoku Premium Data and security Troubleshooting FAQ Changelog Privacy The aim of Sudoku is to fill every empty cell with a digit from 1 to 9 so that each row, each column, and each 3×3 box contains every digit once. Lab Sudoku saves your progress, so an unfinished puzzle can be continued later.
Select a cell and tap a number to enter it. The board can highlight related cells and matching digits according to your settings. If mistake highlighting is enabled, an incorrect entry is identified as you play.
Game in progress Use candidates # Candidate mode records the digits that might fit in a cell without committing to an answer. This is especially useful when a puzzle cannot yet be solved with direct placements.
Auto Candidates can populate missing candidates for the current board. The automatic candidate-removal setting controls whether candidates made impossible by a placed digit are removed for you or left for you to manage.
Correct and check your work # Undo and Redo move backward or forward through recent changes. Validate checks the current board. Restart returns the puzzle to its starting state after confirmation. Reveal Digit fills an answer when you want direct help; completed-game statistics track reveals. Guided Hint looks for a logical next step and explains the pattern instead of simply revealing a digit. Save a checkpoint # A checkpoint captures the current board before you test a difficult branch. Open Checkpoints, give the position a title and optional description, then restore it later if the branch does not work.
Restoring a checkpoint replaces the current board state, so save another checkpoint first if you want to preserve both paths. Free play includes up to two checkpoints per puzzle; Premium removes that limit.
Checkpoints Finish and review # When the grid is complete and valid, Lab Sudoku records the solve. The completion summary can include time, mistakes, hints, and reveals. New items are created when no suitable existing item is found. A category with the same name but a different transaction type is treated as a different category.
Invalid or incomplete rows are skipped and reported in the import log. Keep the source export until you have checked the imported accounts, transactions, and balances.
Import types Single CSV # The Single CSV importer is the general-purpose option for data exported from a spreadsheet, bank conversion, or another budgeting app. The file must be a comma-separated CSV with a header row. Header names are case-insensitive, but every column below is required.
Download an example to use as a starting point:
Ordinary transactions CSV Transfers CSV Save an edited copy as UTF-8 CSV and keep the header names unchanged.
Column Required content How Budgie uses it ACCOUNT_FROM Account name Creates or matches the source account. DATE Transaction date Accepts YYYY-MM-DD, D/M/YYYY, DD/MM/YYYY, M/D/YYYY, or MM/DD/YYYY. Ambiguous numeric dates should be avoided. CURRENCY ISO currency code, such as AUD Used for newly created accounts. A blank value defaults to Budgie’s default account currency. AMOUNT Non-zero number Negative amounts import as expenses; positive amounts import as income. PAYEE Optional payee name Creates or matches a payee for ordinary income or expense transactions. CATEGORY Category name Required for ordinary income or expense transactions. ACCOUNT_TO Optional destination account name When present, the row imports as a linked transfer rather than a categorised transaction. TAGS Optional tags Separate multiple tags with commas or semicolons. DESCRIPTION Optional text Imports as the transaction note. For ordinary transactions, leave ACCOUNT_TO empty and provide a category. For transfers, set ACCOUNT_TO; Budgie creates both sides of the transfer and links them. The transfer amount is imported using its absolute value, so its sign does not change the direction: ACCOUNT_FROM is the source and ACCOUNT_TO is the destination.
Example:
ACCOUNT_FROM,DATE,CURRENCY,AMOUNT,PAYEE,CATEGORY,ACCOUNT_TO,TAGS,DESCRIPTION Everyday,2026-08-01,AUD,-42.50,Fresh Market,Groceries,,food;weekly,Weekly groceries Everyday,2026-08-02,AUD,-500.00,,,Savings,transfer,Move money to savings Everyday,2026-08-03,AUD,2500.00,Employer,Salary,,,August salary The second row is a transfer from Everyday to Savings; it does not need a category.
Rows are skipped when the source account is missing, the date is invalid, the amount is zero or not numeric, or an ordinary transaction has no category. For new accounts, use a consistent currency per account in the file; Budgie uses the currency from the account’s first imported occurrence.
Avoid duplicate imports # The importer adds records to the current database and does not automatically identify a previously imported row. Before importing:
Create a Budgie ZIP backup. Import a small sample first. Check transaction counts, balances, dates, and transfers. Import the complete file only after the sample behaves as expected. If the same file is imported twice, restoring the pre-import backup is often safer than manually deleting a large number of duplicate records.
Spendee CSV # Choose Spendee CSV for a CSV export produced by Spendee. Budgie reads Spendee’s transaction export fields including wallet, currency, type, category name, date, note, and labels.
The importer requires valid values for Amount, Wallet, Category name, and Date. It also uses these Spendee fields when present:
Spendee field Budgie result Wallet Account; a new account is created if needed. Currency Currency for a newly created account; blank defaults to Budgie’s default account currency. Type income imports as income; other values import as expenses. Category name Income or expense category. Date Transaction date; Spendee’s ISO date-time value is converted to its calendar date. Note Transaction note. Labels Tags; separate labels with commas. Spendee imports currently create transactions without payees and do not reconstruct transfers from the CSV. Review wallet balances and transfer history after import if your Spendee export includes transfers or adjustments.
ExpenseIQ backup # Choose ExpenseIQ Backup for a single encrypted ExpenseIQ backup file. Budgie decrypts the backup locally, loads the supported records into a temporary local database, then imports the mapped data. The original backup is not changed.
The importer supports:
accounts, including name, description, currency, initial balance, icon, colour, status, visibility, and report-exclusion settings; categories, including the category type, description, icon, and colour; payees derived from transaction and reminder titles; transactions, including dates, amounts, notes, status, and linked transfers where both sides can be identified; child ExpenseIQ categories as Budgie tags on their transactions; budgets, mapped as monthly anchored budgets with any available account and category filters; recurring schedules and active one-time reminders where the necessary transaction data is available. ExpenseIQ records marked deleted are excluded. Transactions with Template or Open status are not imported as normal transactions, because ExpenseIQ uses them for internal templates and reminder state. Circular transfer records are skipped. Where one side of a transfer cannot be linked, Budgie imports it as an unlinked transfer so that it remains visible for review.
ExpenseIQ’s original budget frequency is not available in the imported budget table. Imported budgets therefore use a monthly anchored interval beginning on the first day of the month. Review imported budgets and adjust their period, limit, filters, and currency as needed.
After an import # Check the import log for skipped rows and mapping warnings. Verify account currencies and opening balances. Review transfers, especially data imported from Spendee or ExpenseIQ. Confirm category and tag mappings, then remove or merge duplicates if required. Review recurring schedules and imported budgets before relying on reminders or reports. Import results Spendee and ExpenseIQ are names and marks of their respective owners. The standard square board is only one starting point.
What is Threes mode? # It uses a different combination rule: 1 and 2 make 3, then equal values from 3 upward combine. It also shows a next-tile preview. Read How to Play for a fuller comparison.
What are Fibonacci and Powers of 3 modes? # Fibonacci merges neighbouring values in the sequence—1 + 1 = 2, 1 + 2 = 3, 2 + 3 = 5—with a goal of 2584. Powers of 3 merges equal pairs—3 + 3 = 9, 9 + 9 = 27—with a goal of 2187. The Triangle silhouette is an ordinary board outline made from square cells and remains available without the beta switch.
Can I preview a move before committing it? # Yes. Tiles follow the selected direction while you drag, including a preview of possible merges. Return towards the starting point to cancel, or release after the commit distance to make the move. An in-development sensitivity setting controls how deliberate that release must be.
Will changing boards erase my game? # No. Each mode-and-layout combination keeps a separate saved run and best score. Giving each one a clear role keeps entry quick and makes budgets, search, and Insights more useful.
Accounts: where the money lives # Create an account for each balance you want to track, such as everyday banking, savings, cash, or a credit account. Each account has its own currency and initial balance.
You can archive accounts you no longer use, hide them from normal views, or exclude them from the combined balance without deleting their history. Transfers should link the source and destination accounts so the movement is not counted as income or expense.
Categories: the primary purpose # Use a category for the main purpose of ordinary income or spending—for example Groceries, Rent, or Salary. Income and expense categories are distinct, even when they have the same name.
Choose categories broad enough to remain consistent. If every merchant gets its own category, category reports become harder to scan; that detail usually belongs in the payee.
Payees: who was involved # A payee identifies the merchant, employer, person, or organisation connected to a transaction. Reusing the same payee name gives you a reliable payee breakdown in Insights.
Payees are optional for many workflows. Budgie’s advanced mode exposes payees and transaction statuses when you want the extra detail.
Tags: flexible labels across everything # Tags are optional labels that can cut across accounts, categories, and payees. Useful examples include Holiday, Reimbursable, Tax, or a project name.
A transaction can have multiple tags, making them useful when one category is not enough. Tags can also narrow budgets and provide their own Insight breakdowns.
Transaction editor Transaction statuses # Statuses can support a personal review or reconciliation workflow. If you use them, choose a small, repeatable process—for example, one status for newly entered activity and another after it has been checked. Status summaries can then appear on the dashboard and in Insights.
Clean up in batches # Use search and selection tools to update groups of transactions. The bulk tag editor can add, remove, or replace tags across selected records. Where Budgie offers merge or move actions, review the affected records before confirming—especially when consolidating accounts or categories.
Bulk tag editor A practical naming pattern # For a supermarket purchase, a useful structure might be:
Field Example Account Everyday Category Groceries Payee Fresh Market Tags Household, Weekly shop Note Ingredients for family dinner The account answers where, the category answers why, the payee answers who, tags add reusable context, and the note holds details that do not need their own reporting dimension.

Lab Sudoku Download How to play Puzzle reference Guided hints and techniques Creating and importing puzzles Camera import Customising the board Daily Challenges and statistics Lab Sudoku Premium Data and security Troubleshooting FAQ Changelog Privacy Standard Sudoku rules # A completed 9×9 grid contains the digits 1–9 exactly once in every row, column, and 3×3 box. A manually entered puzzle with multiple solutions can be accepted as a beta case, but solution-dependent mistake checking and Guided Hints are limited.
Difficulty # Lab Sudoku groups built-in puzzles into Simple, Easy, Intermediate, Expert, and Diabolical levels. Difficulty is a guide to the expected solving challenge, not a guaranteed completion time. Your familiarity with candidates and techniques can make two puzzles at the same level feel different.
Supported entry methods # You can start a built-in puzzle, enter givens manually, or use camera import to scan a printed or on-screen grid.
