Last updated: 13 September 2026.
This policy applies to the Lab Sudoku Android application and related services operated by Lunar Hut.
Puzzle data stored on your device#
Lab Sudoku stores built-in and imported puzzle references, solving progress, candidates, checkpoints, bookmarks, statistics, preferences, and related game state as application data on your device. This local game data is not intentionally uploaded to Lunar Hut as part of ordinary offline puzzle play.
Android may include eligible application data in device backup and restore according to your Android and Google account settings.
Camera import#
Camera import uses Google Play services’ document scanner and on-device Sudoku digit recognition. Lab Sudoku receives the recognised puzzle and may keep a temporary preview in its private app cache so you can review the detected grid. The feature does not intentionally upload the source puzzle image to Lunar Hut.
Camera access is optional. Manual entry and regular puzzles remain available without it.
Online features#
Lab Sudoku uses Google Play and Firebase services for purchases, entitlement verification, promotions, optional Daily Challenge community comparisons, analytics, and crash diagnostics. These services may process:
- app version, Android version, device model, language, and general device information;
- feature events such as puzzle source, difficulty, completion, and Premium interactions;
- crash reports, stack traces, and diagnostic logs;
- an anonymous Firebase identifier used for entitlement or online-service access;
- purchase product and verification state, while Google Play handles payment details; and
- Daily Challenge result data when community comparison is enabled, including completion time, mistakes, and hints used.
Daily comparison does not display your name or a public profile. Advertising identifier permissions are explicitly removed from the application manifest, and Lab Sudoku does not display advertising.
Sharing and disclosure#
Lunar Hut does not sell your puzzle history or gameplay data. Data may be processed by service providers needed to operate the application, comply with law, investigate abuse or security incidents, or protect users and the service. Their handling is governed by their respective policies:
Retention and deletion#
Local application data remains until you delete items, clear Lab Sudoku’s storage, or uninstall the app. Source photos remain in the gallery or document provider you selected until you delete them there. Analytics, crash, entitlement, purchase, and optional Daily comparison information is retained according to the relevant Google Play, Firebase, and Lunar Hut service settings.
See Data deletion for practical steps or contact privacy@lunarhut.com about data controlled by Lunar Hut.
Children#
Lab Sudoku is a general-audience puzzle game. It is not designed to collect a player’s name or create a public profile. Parents and guardians should manage Google Play purchase controls and device privacy settings for children in their care.
Changes#
This policy may be updated when features, service providers, or legal requirements change. The updated date above identifies the current published version.
