Lab Merge Beta Testing

·292 words·2 mins
Lab Merge is still in active development. There is no public beta enrolment or Google Play listing at present.

What a beta will test
#

Testing will focus on the areas where Lab Merge differs most from a conventional square 2048 game:

  • movement and merge behaviour across 2048, Threes, Fibonacci, and Powers of 3;
  • square, hexagonal, and triangular-cell geometry;
  • unusual built-in layouts and experimental terrain;
  • custom-board editing, validation, testing, export, and import;
  • saved games, undo history, statistics, achievements, and preference migration;
  • board scaling, positioning, gestures, themes, animation, and accessibility behaviour.

Features, file formats, saved data, and presentation may change during testing. Development builds should not be treated as permanent storage for important custom layouts unless you also keep exported copies.

Preparing useful feedback
#

When testing becomes available, useful reports should include:

  1. the app version and Android version;
  2. the device model and display orientation;
  3. the selected rule set and board layout;
  4. the exact steps that reproduce the behaviour;
  5. what you expected and what happened instead; and
  6. a redacted screenshot or custom-layout JSON when it is relevant and safe to share.

Do not include account credentials, payment information, or unrelated personal data.

Follow development

Any public testing route will be announced on the Development Status page. Until then, the preview documentation describes the current direction without promising a release or beta date.
