A balance does not match#
Check the opening balance, account currency, missing or duplicate transactions, and both sides of transfers. Then compare pending, cleared, reconciled, and void transactions with the statement. The Accounts and reconciliation guide provides a complete workflow.
An import skipped rows#
Open the import log and look for invalid dates, zero or non-numeric amounts, missing source accounts, or ordinary transactions without a category. Correct the source file and retry from a known-good backup when necessary. Do not repeatedly import the same corrected file into the same database without checking for duplicates.

Imported data appears twice#
Imports add records; they do not replace or automatically de-duplicate the current database. Restore the backup made before the import when that is safer than deleting many entries manually. Otherwise, use search and bulk selection carefully and review linked transfers before deleting them.
A backup or restore fails#
- Confirm that the selected destination is writable and still available through Android’s document picker.
- Check free storage and network access for cloud-provider folders.
- Keep the app open for a manual backup and allow a restore to finish completely.
- Use a Budgie ZIP for restore; CSV, JSON, and QIF exports are not complete backups.
Budgie backup ZIPs are not encrypted. Treat them as sensitive files.
Reminders do not appear#
Confirm that notifications are allowed for Budgie and that the schedule has a reminder configured. Battery restrictions, background-task restrictions, device restarts, time changes, and time-zone changes can affect delivery. Open Budgie after changing those settings so schedules can be refreshed.
A screen is clipped or difficult to use#
Check Android font and display scaling, orientation, and any magnification service. See Compatibility and the Accessibility statement.

Use the Support page and include the app version, Android version, device model, and exact reproduction steps. Never send an unredacted database or backup unless a safe transfer has been explicitly arranged.
