This policy applies to the Budgie Android application and related services operated by Lunar Hut.
Financial data#
Budgie stores the accounts, transactions, balances, categories, payees, tags, budgets, schedules, and settings you create as application data on your device. Budgie does not connect to your bank, initiate payments, or intentionally transmit your financial database to Lunar Hut as part of ordinary ledger use.
When you create a backup or export, you choose a destination through Android. A local folder, removable storage, Google Drive, or another document provider may then store the file under that provider’s terms. Budgie ZIP backups are not encrypted by Budgie.
Information processed by online services#
Budgie uses Google Play Services and Firebase services for platform functionality, exchange-rate delivery, analytics, and crash diagnostics. Depending on the feature and service configuration, those services may process:
- app version, Android version, device model, language, and general device information;
- screen views and feature events;
- the selected main currency when it changes;
- crash reports, stack traces, and diagnostic logs;
- network information such as an IP address; and
- an anonymous service identifier used to communicate with Firebase-backed features.
Analytics events are intended to describe app usage rather than the contents of individual financial records. Do not include financial data in a manual diagnostic report unless a safe, redacted example is specifically requested.
Permissions#
- Notifications support scheduled transaction and bill reminders.
- Boot completed allows reminders to be rescheduled after the device restarts or the app is updated.
- Internet and network state support exchange rates, diagnostics, and online services.
- Camera is declared as optional and is not required for core finance tracking.
Advertising identifier permissions are explicitly removed from the application manifest. Budgie does not display advertising.
Sharing and disclosure#
Lunar Hut does not sell your financial records. Data may be processed by service providers needed to operate the application, comply with law, investigate abuse or security incidents, or protect users and the service. Their handling is governed by their respective policies:
Retention and deletion#
Local application data remains until you delete records, clear Budgie’s storage, or uninstall the app. Backups and exports remain wherever you placed them until you delete those copies. Analytics and crash information is retained according to Firebase settings and applicable service policies.

Children#
Budgie is a personal finance application and is not directed to children. Do not submit another person’s personal or financial information without authority to do so.

This policy may be updated when features, service providers, or legal requirements change. The updated date above identifies the current published version.
