- Account: no bank account connection is required
- Internet: everyday transaction entry, budgets, and local reporting are designed to work without a continuous connection
- Online features: cloud-provider backups, exchange-rate updates, app updates, and some platform services require connectivity
- Optional permissions: notifications support scheduled reminders; camera access is optional and is not required for core finance tracking

Before changing devices#
Create a current Budgie ZIP backup and keep it somewhere you control. A CSV, JSON, or QIF export is useful outside Budgie but is not a complete restore file. See Backup, restore, and export.
